New Instructor Hire Checklist

AAA Leadership Team Completes

  1. Welcome Email:  An email is sent with an overview of on-boarding process and AAA Instructor Information Hub URL provided.
  2. Code Sheet: A sheet with codes for the following is provided typically at training. 
    1. Classroom Doors (Horizon 127, 103 or classroom that you're assigned)
    2. FYE Office Door (To access your mailbox after hours)
    3. Horizon Adjunct Office Door (Area that you can hold your office hours)
    4. Code to make copies on the copiers at any campus
  3. IT Access: Access to the AAA Instructor Forum and course shell(s) is requested. 
  4. Parking Permit: Department Chair provides a parking permit (Description of car is necessary to document for Security)

  1. New Hire Paperwork: Complete necessary forms at Human Resources (Cornerstone Building, Greeley Campus)
  2. Employee ID Badge: Contact Allyson Byerly at allyson.byerly@aims.edu to make arrangements to have your photo taken. You will be contacted by the Student Leadership and Development office when your ID badge is ready. You can then pick it up or make arrangements to have it sent to you. Those individuals working in Loveland and Ft. Lupton will have their ID photos taken on their respective campus and the ID badge sent to the point of contact at that campus
  3. IT Access: Contact the Help Desk (970-339-6380) to obtain your Windows username and password. Help Desk office hours are 8 am to 7 pm Mondays and Tuesdays, 8 am to 5 pm Wednesday through Friday, and summer hours vary. Be prepared to answer some security questions for purposes of employee verification. When verified, you will be given: Your Windows Networking username and password - Windows Networking allows you to have access to computers on the Aims campus, as well as the resources that are on the Aims Network.  Your Aims e-mail address - Aims E-mail is a valuable campus communication tool including the Aims Daily, a daily newsletter for Aims employees. PLEASE NOTE: IT Access takes approx. 4 to 24 hours to complete once activated in Banner.
  4. Email Access: Access your Aims email through your MyAims account.  You do not need to create a gmail account but if prompted enter your email address (firstname.lastname@aims.edu - e.g. denise.pearson@aims.edu) and your password to your MyAims account)
  5. Bio for AAA Website: Write a bio for the AAA Instructor website. See http://www.aims.edu/academics/aaa/faculty for samples.  Send to francie.rottini@aims.edu when completed. 
  6. Training: Attend training (AAA specific and FTLC New Faculty Orientation) offered as personal and professional commitments allow.
  7. Title IX Training (Attending training is required every year): The Office of Civil Rights has mandated that employers train their employees on Title IX. Please contact John Fults at 970-339-6650 or john.fults@aims.edu. Training must be completed in person.
